Missing school boy found in Malleswaram

Last Updated 15 June 2017, 20:03 IST

A 14-year-old boy who went missing after he was allegedly harassed by his teachers at Bishop Cotton Boys’ School  three days ago was traced to Malleswaram on Wednesday night .

The Class IX student had gone missing due to frequent harassment by a section of teachers. The boy’s mother has decided to approach the Child Protection Committee and the Human Rights Commission seeking justice.

“Mr Bindiya, the English teacher, deliberately targeted my son without any reason. Despite being a brilliant student, my son failed in the examination. The school principal abused me badly besides threatening me.

Developments in the school have adversely affected my son who has been hospitalised,” the boy’s mother alleged. She claimed that the school management did not share her son’s answer scripts despite repeated pleas. She said there was no communication from the school about her son’s failure to clear the exam.

The school authorities directed the boy not to attend classes and sent him out of the campus. “They didn’t even inform me about sending him out of school. My son was ready to attend the re-exam, but I was told that he should study in Class IX again. He hasn’t gone to the school since June 6,” she said.
DH contacted the school principal for his comments  but calls remained unanswered.
