Businessman Nanjundi quits Cong, joins BJP

Congress leader and businessman K P Nanjundi joined the BJP in Bengaluru on Monday in the presence of party state president B S Yeddyurappa.

Nanjundi is the president of Ahikla Karnataka Vishwakarma Mahasabha. Yeddyurappa said the party will give him a state-level responsibility soon. Yeddyurappa urged Nanjundi to organise a mammoth “show of strength” convention of the Vishwakarma community in Bengaluru soon.

Nanjundi said he had made a mistake by joining the Congress. “I have served the Congress for 16 years. However, Congress leaders especially (Chief Minister) Siddaramaiah did not show the courtesy of acknowledging my contribution to the party,”  he said.
