Gundu Rao objects to Kumar's remarks

Last Updated 30 June 2017, 20:26 IST
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working president Dinesh Gundu Rao on Friday took exception to BJP spokesperson S Suresh Kumar’s remark asking AICC general secretary in charge of Karnataka K C Venugopal not to impose “Kerala culture” on Karnataka.

“Congress does not follow the culture of murders. It has a nation-building culture. It is the BJP which is misleading students by sowing seeds of communalism. Suresh Kumar has targeted the party unnecessarily,” he stated in a release.

The BJP leader had taken objection to Venugopal’s statement asking the office-bearers of the National Students’ Union of India, Karnataka, and the state Youth Congress, to adopt the Kerala model as far as strengthening the party is concerned. The Congress leader had also reportedly asked the office-bearers to provide him a list of colleges that are controlled by the RSS and the BJP.

Suresh Kumar had said that attacks on RSS and BJP workers have increased in Kerala and that should not happen in Karnataka.
