Syndicate Bank on Saturday announced the appointment of Melwyn Rego as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
Rego began his career in the banking industry by joining IDBI Bank Ltd in 1984. Prior to joining Syndicate Bank, Rego was MD and CEO of Bank of India.
He has also held the position of Deputy Managing Director, IDBI Bank Ltd.
Rego was deputed to IDBI Homefinance Ltd as Managing Director and CEO in September 2003 after IDBI took over Tata Homefinance Ltd.
Rego returned to IDBI in January 2008 and took over as Head- International Banking Division to spearhead IDBI Bank’s overseas initiatives.
