Breaking the notion that vegetarians don’t have many options to explore, this small place on Museum Road is garnering much attention. ‘Little Green Cafe’, owned by Bikas Parik, works on the principle of healthy eating.

“Considering that the eatery is only 20 days old, we are getting amazing feedback from people. We have kept it as healthy and organic as possible. Social media has been of great help in spreading the word,” says Bikas. One can see the corporate crowd stepping in for lunch; however, the scene is a bit different during the evenings with youngsters and families visiting the place.

You will be pretty surprised with the varied options in vegetarian food on the menu. Tease your palate with some very unusual flavours as you take, perhaps, the first step towards healthy eating. Start your meal with a bowl of ‘Mushroom cappuccino’ soup which is one of their fast-moving items.

The salads here are also worth-trying. ‘The Classic Greek salad tossed with apple cider vinegar’ is a good choice.

If you are a ‘pita’ and ‘hummus’ fan, go for the ‘Mezze platter’. You will be surprised to see a healthy twist to the classic ‘hummus’ provided by beetroot and chia seeds.

The handmade multigrain bread is the perfect addition to the platter. The ‘Roasted tomato risotto’ is also a must-try and the taste lingers on your tastebuds for long.

Try their ‘Thai curry with semi-polished Kerala rice’ — it is appetising and flavourful. The portions are just right for one person and don’t make you feel stuffed to the brim.

And that will leave you just enough room for dessert. After a wholesome meal, try their ‘Dark chocolate mousse’. This mouthful of chocolate is perfect for chocolate lovers and you can’t stop but go for another spoonful.

The restaurant is quite spacious and airy keeping in mind the size of the cafe. Lime and clay plasters, together with chemical-free paints on each wall and ceiling, give an earthy feel adding to the lovely experience.

‘Little Green Cafe’ is located at 9/3, Prestige Pearl House, Museum Road. For details, call  49653389.
