Three killed in accident

Three people, including two children, were killed on the spot after a truck toppled on a car that was parked on roadside near Somawarpet on Saturday.

The victims hailed from Kulurgi village, Indi taluk, in Vijayapura district. They were returning after a trip to Tamil Nadu when the accident occurred, said the police.

The driver of the truck lost control over the vehicle and it toppled on the car which was parked on roadside, killing the driver and two children on the spot.

Members of victims' family had asked the driver to park the car so that they would get down and drink tender coconuts.
