His FB entry is part of Congress’ attempt to perk up its social media presence to reach out to the masses.
News of his FB presence was announced in Congress’ twitter handle, the social media platform from where the party has been aggressively attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi while also propagating its own ideology.
“You may now follow Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on his official Facebook page for updates,” the Congress said on Twitter.
The Congress was slow to adapt to social media with Rahul joining Twitter in 2015, a year after the party’s humiliating loss to the BJP in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, six years after Modi took to the micro blogging site.
