KPL has done the basics right

All of us connected with the KPL have tried to get the basics right, which is why, thankfully, the KPL is the force to reckon with these days. We insist on good governance, crucial to the longevity of any sporting event. We focus very hard on the ground event, to ensure it runs like a well-oiled machine. And we strive to provide a good experience for the spectators.

Right from season one, we’ve focussed very hard on the biggest multiplier on the visibility of a sporting event – television.

We had some basic television to begin with, which later was upped to major international television. And now, of course, KPL continues to be blessed as Star Sports are our new television partner.

Why is it so important to mention Star Sports? Very simply, because of their high standards. Not only in terms of television production, but what is equally, if not more importantly for any sporting event, the promotion before the event begins. Star have mastered that, and when they take up an event they leave no stone unturned in ensuring that its promotion is extremely visible.

Let me get back to production. Since Star are partners, they are extremely concerned that the production is of the highest possible standard. Now we all know that the KPL is not a major international event, but all of us sports lovers are used to a certain standard of production.
