<p>Sandbox Collective will present the third edition of ‘Gender Bender’ on September 9 and 10 at Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan.<br /><br />It is a joint project between Sandbox Collective and the Goethe - Institut and is co curated along with ‘The Ladies Finger’. The project invites artists and individuals working in the field of arts to send entries for projects that take a fresh, innovative and new look at notions of gender or approach questions or issues of gender with ingenuity and imagination.<br /><br />Projects could include fiction or non-fiction writing, poetry, film, theatre, music, visual arts, photography, installations, drawings, dance, or a mix of media and artistic forms. <br /><br />From matters most intimate that should be spoken about more often, to a collective game that people join in to play, this year’s edition of ‘Gender Bender’ promises to be a fulfilling experience.<br /><br />This year, the panel comprises of Sadanand Menon, Sameera Iyengar, A Mangai and Jasmeen Patheja. Sadanand Menon is an arts editor, cultural journalism teacher and photographer.<br /><br />Co-founder and director of ‘Junoon’, Sameera Iyengar studied BSc Mathematics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has a PhD in Theatre from the University of Chicago.<br /><br />A Mangai is a theatre director and professor of English Literature at Stella Mary’s College, Chennai.<br /><br />Jasmeen Patheja graduated from Srishti School of Art Design and Technology, where she started the ‘Blank Noise’ as a student project, which has now gone to other cities as well. <br /><br />Ibtisam, Madhushree Basu, Sukriti Sureka, Arunima Bose, Aarthi Murali, Shilpa Mudbi Kothakota, Himani Pant, Elisabeth Pfahl, Sreecheta Das and ‘Fields Of View’ are some of the grantees for Gender Bender</p>
