Last Updated 02 November 2017, 17:39 IST

All India traders body (CAIT) on Thursday demanded a CBI probe against Infosys and other companies for the delay in fixing glitches in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) portal even after four months of its rollout.

It has also sought for a white paper on the current status of GST portal from the government and a third party technical and another audit of the portal.

"It construes as a betrayal of the nation," CAIT said.

"Even after four months of GST implementation in the country, the GST portal which was supposed to function properly from July one itself is still working like an experimental project causing much harassment and mental distress to traders across the country," it said.

Infosys was one of the companies assigned the work of creating, updating and maintenance of GST portal.
