IIMK hikes distance learning fee by Rs 1 lakh

The Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) in management meant for working professionals will cost Rs 4.99 lakh compared to Rs 4 lakh.

Addressing the media on Friday, the IIMK Director Prof Debashis Chatterjee said, “The fee is still lesser than any international B-School. We will not hike the fee unless it is absolutely necessary.” The fee, however, does not include the expenses of travel and stay at IIMK for the mandatory modules of the programme conducted at the campus.

The two-year distance education course was started last year and nearly 150 professionals enrolled for the course. Chatterjee said that the total intake for EPGP 2010 will be at least 300. The course comprises 810 classroom hours and 90 hours of on campus learning. The programme is open to all graduates with at least five years of work experience and is being offered in collaboration with Hughes Net Global Education.
