NEW DELHI, DHNS: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj asked a young woman boxer from Uttar Pradesh to win a medal for the country after helping her obtain a passport to participate in a tournament in Ukraine.
Jhalak Tomar, from Muzaffarnagar, received her passport from the regional passport officer in Ghaziabad on Monday, a day after Sushma came to know that she needed the travel document immediately to take part in the tournament.
"Jhalak - I have spoken on the given number. You will get the passport tomorrow (Monday) morning and you have to win a medal for the country," Sushma tweeted on Sunday.
Jhalak's plight was brought to Sushma's notice by a Twitter user.
