The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday asked the state government to produce evidence in the case related to kidnap attempt and assault case of Vinay Bidre, the personal assistant of Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, K S Eshwarappa.
N R Santosh, the personal assistant of BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa, is the prime accused in the Bidre kidnap case. He has moved the court seeking quashing of proceedings against him.
Justice K N Phaneendra also asked the government to furnish the statements of eight co-accused in the case. The matter was adjourned to November 17.
On May 11, a gang of five people reportedly attempted to kidnap Bidre. Santosh has been granted anticipatory bail in the case.
