A minor girl was raped in a sugarcane field here, police said on Saturday.
The identity of the rapist is as yet unknown.
The girl was on her way to a relative's place on Friday when the accused dragged her to a nearby sugarcane field and raped her, they said.
The girl informed her parents immediately and the matter was brought to the police.
A medical examination of the girl was conducted, Circle Officer Sanjeev Suman said, adding that a case was registered against the accused.
