<p>The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday stayed the resolution passed by the Legislative Assembly with regard to the conviction of journalists Ravi Belagere and Anil Raj.</p>.<p>Justice A S Bopanna was hearing a petition filed by the journalists, who had moved the court challenging their conviction and imprisonment for a year ordered by the Assembly. The House held them guilty of breach of privilege over alleged defamatory articles about some MLAs.</p>.<p>The bench directed the government not to take any adverse action against the petitioners based on the resolution passed by the Assembly until further orders of the court.</p>.<p>Justice Bopanna observed that this matter needed details consideration on its merits and further orders could be made after the pleadings are completed.</p>.<p>The bench directed the pleadings to be completed within four weeks, after which the matter would be heard.</p>
