One hurt in shootout

One of the two bike-borne miscreants opened fire at Sanjeeva Shetty textile shop at the busy Car Street in Bunder police station jurisdiction here on Friday night.

According to information available, the two bike-borne miscreants arrived at Car Street and one of them went inside the shop and asked for a T-shirt, but did not purchase it. Soon after he went out, he opened fire at the shop and fled the spot in the bike waiting outside. One staffer, identified as Mahalinga Naik, has suffered bullet injuries in his leg.It is suspected that the miscreants might have opened fire in a bid to give threat for Hafta.
Further investigation is on.
