Last Updated 19 December 2017, 16:37 IST

Graduates play a vital role in responding to the developments in society. Efforts will be made to solve the problems of graduates, said BJP candidate from South West Graduates constituency for the MLC seat, Ayanuru Manjunath.

Addressing reporters here on Tuesday he said he has gathered experience being a legislator and a Member of Parliament. He has been the people's voice while in ABVP and BMS, he said and expressed his wish of representing the graduates' constituency as the MLC.

He further alleged that the UGC regulations have been flouted while recruiting 2,160 assistant professors in 2017-18. Also, the guest lecturers' problems have not been solved by the Congress-led state government. Around 4,320 guest lecturers are about to lose their jobs. Efforts will be made to provide job security to them, he added.

MLA M P Appacchu Ranjan said that Ayanuru Manjunath has made efforts to safeguard the rights of workers while he was an MLA and an MP.

MLC Sunil Subramani, former MLC S G Medappa and Coffee Board Vice President Reena Prakash were present at the press meet.
