Last Updated 21 December 2017, 18:26 IST

Deputy Commissioner D Randeep directed all government department heads to provide identity (ID) cards to the employees to avoid confusion among the people who visit the offices. The ID cards should be ready by December 31 and the employees should wear them from January 1.

During a meeting with officials at the DC's office here on Thursday, the DC said that there are reports that non-government employees are misleading the public who are visiting the government offices and thus the ID cards should be provided to all the employees including those working on contract basis. The employees should wear the ID cards authorised by the head of their respective departments, the DC said.

The DC urged the officials to take up cleanliness work of their office premises before December 31 and also suggested that officials spare one day in a month for the cleanliness work. The practice will spread a good message among the people and the office premises will be spick and span, he said. He asked the officials to inform the schedule of the works to the respective civic bodies well in advance so that the officials would make necessary arrangements.
