Man killed as bikes collide

A 48-year-old man was killed and two others, including his daughter, sustained injuries when their motorbike collided with another two-wheeler on the Mysuru Road flyover on Thursday morning.

The deceased, Sathish Pandit, a resident of Hosakerehalli, was employed as a manager at a private firm.

According to the police, Pandit was on his way to NMKRV College for Women to drop off his daughter, Swathi. On the flyover, another biker, Govind Diwekar (30), brushed against Pandit's vehicle. The riders lost control and fell down.

Pandit was severely injured as his head hit the divider. The police suspect he had not secured his helmet properly. He died on the spot.

Swathi (19) and Diwekar, a software engineer and resident of Katriguppe, sustained multiple fractures and were rushed to hospital. They are out of danger. The City Market traffic police have slapped charges against Diwekar.
