Nagendra (38), a jawan serving in the Indo-Tibetan Border Force, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar in Holenarasipur, passed away while on duty.
Nagendra is the son of Chinnaswamy. The family members were informed about his death through a phone call on Tuesday. He had joined the defence force in 2001 batch. The reason for the death is not known.
He leaves behind his wife, two daughters, and family members. The body is expected to reach the town on Wednesday, said the police.
