JOIN USAn auto-rickshaw driver and dozens of his friends reportedly assaulted a traffic policeman in KR Puram on Friday.
Syed Nayaz, of Devasandra, started arguing with Govind Nayak, posted at Devasandra Circle. Auto drivers park at the intersection in two rows, obstructing traffic. Nayak wanted them to move their vehicles to ease traffic.
As Nayaz started arguing with Nayak, the constable got into his auto-rickshaw and asked him to drive to the police station. Nayaz instead drove to Rudrabhoomi, around 300 metres away. Dozens of his friends gathered there and reportedly assaulted Nayak before the policeman could call up his colleague Rathod. Nayak was injured in the leg, face and back. He later filed a complaint at the KR Puram police station.
