A 24-year-old driver of an excavator died after a boulder fell on him when he was levelling the ground in Giridham Layout in West Bengaluru's Rajarajeshwari Nagar on Monday evening.
Pushpendra Kumar, from Uttar Pradesh, worked for Malabar Rock Cutting Company which had taken a contract to level the land belonging to one Babu. A boulder from atop fell on the Hitachi excavator that was being steered by Kumar to clear stones. He died on the spot.
Police said his relatives had been informed and that they were awaiting more details.
