Rohini Sindhuri's transfer triggers protests in Hassan

The city witnessed a series of protests on Tuesday, condemning the sudden transfer of Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri.

Members of the JD(S), the BJP, and AAP staged separate protests holding district in-charge Minister A Manju, responsible for the transfer.

The JD(S) members took out a protest march from Hemavathy statue to N R Circle and raised slogans against Manju and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. They alleged that the DC was transferred as she did not provide an opportunity for corruption in the name of Mahamastakabisheka.

Aam Aadmi Party workers staged a protest in front of minister Manju's office, against the transfer. The BJP workers, who staged a protest, claimed that the DC did not allow her office to turn into a Congress office, and hence she was transferred.

However, Sindhuri was not available for comment. She had not ventured out of her house since morning. Though, a few officials had gone to meet her, it is said that, she did not meet them.
