Alternate route to BIAL may be opened by month-end

Bengaluru: The alternate route to the Bangalore International Airport (BIAL) may be opened for public by February-end.

Inspecting the route along with Agriculture Minister Krishna Byre Gowda on Thursday, Bangalore Development Minister KJ George ordered for the completion of the route at the earliest.

"The basic purpose of the visit was to expedite the remaining work. There were delays due to various reasons. Today, he has instructed to finish the work of the link road at the earliest. The public works department has said that the work will be completed by the end of this month," said Krishna Byre Gowda.

He also said that the widening of the existing approach roads can go on subsequent to the opening of the road.
