Meditation centres no threat to advocates: Judge

Speaking after inaugurating the Udupi Advocates Multipurpose Co-operative Society at the Court Complex here on Saturday, Justice Kumar said that advocates should sincerely make endeavours to settle cases without sacrificing professionalism. District court is the perfect destination for any advocate to start his career and reach the pinnacle. It is the basic foundation of training, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, outgoing Administrative Judge of Udupi District Justice Javed Rahim said co-operative societies are set up for the mutual benefits of the members. There is a need for advocates’ housing society in Udupi district. The society’s income can be augmented by introducing e-stamping and other similar profitable ventures, he added.

High Court Judge Justice B Manohar, Udupi District and Sessions Judge K B Chengappa, Udupi Bar Association President C Vijay Hegde, Kundapur Bar Association President Kalavar Uday Shetty and others were present.
