JD(S) is a 'vision sarkar' says Kumaraswamy

Last Updated 01 March 2018, 07:01 IST

If Congress is a 'commission sarkar' according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP is a 'mission sarkar'; then JD(S) is a 'vision sarkar' said state JD(S) president Kumaraswamy.

Addressing a media conference  in Hubballi on Thursday, Kumaraswamy said that JD(S) will prove to PM Modi and AICC president Rahul Gandhi that it is a 'vision sarkar' during this poll.

"If the two parties take JD(S) lightly during this election, they will be surprised by the outcome," he added.

Amit Shah has said that the Mahdayi impasse will be resolved if the BJP comes to power in Karnataka. Shah's statement is foolish and misleading. Kumarswamy called upon people of the northern parts of Karnataka to examine Shah's statement closely.

While confirming, that his party has asked Congress to let JD(S) have four Rajya Sabha seats as a pre-poll pact, Kumaraswamy said that they were 'not begging'.

Criticising state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa, he said that the latter cannot be called pro-farmer.

"How can a chief minister who does not waive farmers' loans be called farmer-friendly? Taking a fistful of rice from a farmer's house and eating with farmers, does not make Yeddyurappa pro-farmer. He has bear upon PM Modi to waive farmer loans," the JD(S) leader said.

Kumaraswamy alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was using tax payer's money to pay for Congress' poll media advertisements.

He demanded that the government must publish a whitepaper on its claim that Rs 58,000 crore had been spent on water resource development.
