According to the police, around 11 pm, Gautam received a call from one of his family members and went outside the flat to receive it. The police suspect Gautam, in an inebriated state, lost balance and slipped and fell to his death.

Security personnel of the apartment, who heard a loud thud, noticed his body lying in a pool of blood and informed the police. Meanwhile, his friends, who were busy partying, were puzzled as Gautam did not return even after 15 minutes. They tried to call him on his mobile phone.
