<p>A group of lake guardians have written to Governor Vajubhai Vala asking him not to give assent for the proposal to transfer lakes to the Minor Irrigation Department.</p>.<p>The state government is planning to bring all water bodies under a single authority since it is now scattered across the BBMP, BDA and Karnataka Lake Conservation and Development Authority.</p>.<p>The opposition follows the government's decision to handover 902 acres of lake bodies, in-principle, to the department. This includes Bengaluru's 210 water bodies.</p>
