Residents demand action for polluting of water body

The residents of Balletti near Napoklu are worried due to the unscientific disposal of waste from a  slaughterhouse. Mounds of trash heaped near the water body have not only polluted the atmosphere but have also contaminated the water source, local residents said.

An unbearable stink is emanating from garbage due to the mixing of slaughterhouse waste with other waste. Moreover, water from the stream has become unfit for use due to pollution.

The villagers have vented their ire against miscreants and urged the Gram Panchayat to initiate stern action against the unscientific disposal of waste.

Ballamavati Gram Panchayat President Karavanda Sarasu Pemmayya said that a police complaint will be lodged in the matter. Similar incidents had taken place during the previous year as well, she said.
