Chief Minister Siddaramaiah recommends extension of Ratna Prabha's term

The Karnataka government has recommended to the Centre for granting three-month extension to Chief Secretary Ratna Prabha K, who will be retiring on March 31, on her superannuation.

A couple of days ago, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah recommended the Department of Personal and Training for granting three months' extension to the 1981 batch IAS officer.

The reasons cited were Assembly elections and smooth transition to the government, sources said.

The file is pending at the DOPT and it has to take a final call on this decision, sources said.

S K Pattanayak (1982 batch), Secretary to Union Ministry of Agriculture is the next senior most officer followed by Latha Krishna Rau (1982 batch), Secretary to Union Ministry of Social Welfare.

Next senior officer is T M Vijay Bhaskar, (1983), who is currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary.
