Baaghi 2

Hindi (U/A)

Cast: Tiger Shroff, Disha Patani, Manoj Bajpayee, Randeep Hooda

Director: Ahmed Khan

Let there be fight! Enters Tiger bone-breaker  Shroff, puncturing every limb in sight.

The heroics begin in Kashmir, where our army officer is every militant's nightmare (stone-pelters, human shield, anyone?)  The one-man fauj soon lands in Goa, on request of old lover (Disha Patani) whose daughter has been kidnapped.

Agreed it's a sin to expect anything other than action from a Tiger Shroff movie. But a semblance of a story would have made the pile of corpses a bit more palatable.

Our man, ever Rambo-esque, just wants to find the missing child, but given that it's Goa, bumps into a legion of powder-snorters. Oh those Russians!

Meanwhile, Disha is all directionless, coming alive only in flashbacks where she plays Miss Congeniality, who has the proverbial union-breaker dad. Those are also the moments when Tiger strays into an unknown territory – emoting.

Now, one man who is clearly having fun is Randeep Hooda  - a complete hoot, as the selfie-loving cop 'LSD'. Manoj Bajpayee and Deepak Dobriyal also make a formidable cast in this sequel to the 2016 actioner. Another surprise comes in the form of Prateik Babbar, effective as a drugged-out outlaw.

In the climax, all the action shifts to a jungle where combat specialists of all races are huddled up to take on Tiger. But no creed or creation is a match for Captain Ranveer Pratap Singh. Trust our man to bring down choppers!

That's no mean feat. But, at the end of the day, Baaghi 2 is just 145 minutes of a bronzed Shroff, all guns blazing. A beefcake of a movie with no soul.
