Police arrest four, seize swords, country made pistols

The Mangaluru North Anti-rowdy Squad personnel, along with Surathkal police, arrested four persons and seized three swords, two country-made pistols and 10 live rounds.

Based on a tip off, that Sandeep, a resident of Krishnapura fourth block in Surathkal is in possession of swords, the police arrested him and seized three swords from him. City Police Commissioner T R Suresh said that based on the information given by Sandeep, the police arrested Akash Haradi of Brahmavar and Charan Raj alias Channu Farangipete at Kuthethoor and Rakshith Bhandary of Dharmasthala. Akash Haradi and Charan Raj had informed the police that they had given two country-made pistols and 10 live rounds to Rakshith, based on the direction of Sathish alias Sacchu, who is serving life imprisonment at Belagavi jail, and Akash and Prashanth alias Pacchu.

The commissioner said that Sandeep was involved in an assault case registered in Mulki, while there is one assault and attempt to murder case against Charan Raj and one assault case against Rakshith in Belthangady police station.
