Vokkaligas won't back Siddaramaiah: youth body

Even as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been making several attempts to convince the Vokkaliga community leaders to support him in the election, members of the Jilla Vokkaliga Yuva Vedike said they will never back Siddaramaiah.

"We support the Congress party, but not Siddaramaiah," said association president N Rajkumar.

At a press conference here, the members said Siddaramaiah had been targetting the community people since he became chief minister. He troubled officials, ministers and the people who
supported him in his success so far.

"It is inevitable to defeat the Congress party, if it goes to the election under the leadership of Siddaramaiah," he said.

Speaking about the Vokkaligas' conference organised by Siddaramaiah in the city on Friday, the members said, except for a few people, a majority of the participants were non-Vokkaligas.

Siddaramaiah and his supporters had paid money to the participants to attend the conference.
