500-year-old idol found in Mudigere

The idol was found in the paddy field, which belong to farmer Prasanna of Binnadi in Taruve Gram Panchayat near Banakal hobli. Gram Panchayat President Udayachandra and Prasanna saw only the head portion of the idol at the beginning. Later, when they dug the land with the help of local youths, the three feet tall idol in meditating position was unearthed.

Immediately, they informed the taluk officials. Revenue Inspector Gangadhar visited the spot and took initiative to preserve the idol.
