Speaking after inaugurating the May Day celebrations at the BSP office here, he said that while farmers rule China, labourers rule Russia. However, due to caste system in India, those category are not able to secure power, he lamented.

In his presidential address, BSP District President K T Radhakrishna said that it is labourers who contribute significantly for the nation. The development of the nation is never possible if labour class do not work, he added.

He said that the May Day should be observed as an Independence Day of labour class.
Senior daiily wage labourer Manjachar was felicitated on the occasion. BSP Constituency In-charge G K Basavaraj, District Secretary N P Eshwar, Leaders Harish, K T Shrinivas and Gangadhar were present.
