Modi "unperturbed" by ECB allegations

BCCI yesterday served a showcause notice to Modi after England and Wales Cricket Board chairman Giles Clarke accused him of inciting counties to overpower their governing body and the players to revolt if they are not allowed to play in IPL.

"Another day. Another show cause notice. Any guesses as to who's purpose ECB's Giles Clark was attempting to serve?" Modi wrote on his Twitter page.

"At IPL final, I used a quotation from Bhagwat Geeta 'Fear NOT from what is Untrue'. I believe in this. Thus I am unperturbed by allegations," he said.

The showcause notice referred to Modi's March 31 meeting in Delhi with representatives of English counties in which the suspended IPL chief allegedly talked about a parallel IPL in the England and Wales in which eight existing franchises would bid for nine counties in UK.
BCCI said if Clarke's allegations are true, Modi's activities would amount to a blow to "the very foundation of the way cricket is administered and played across the world" and gave him 15 days to respond.

Modi also commented on the Supreme Court notice to BCCI secretary N Srinivasan asking whether his ownership of the Chennai Super Kings IPL franchise constituted a conflict of interest.

"A lot of you asking my views on case in Supreme Court filed by Mutthiah. All I want to say is case is sub judice. Truth will prevail here too," he tweeted.
