The goods vehicle was reportedly ferrying voters from Hyderabad to Havinal village to enable them cast votes in the GP polls.
The condition of seven injured is stated to be critical. While Sripathirao Bheema rao Salanke (60), Chandrabai Sripathirao Salanke (80) and Ambubai Lakshmanrao (70) were killed on the spot Indramma Mukunda Rao (65) and Bheemabai Subhash (30) succumbed to injuries in the hospital.
The injured have been admitted to Gurumitkal hospital. It is said there were about 50 people in the goods vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the spot after the accident. Police are on the look out for him.
