The SIT, headed by former CBI director R K Raghavan, submitted the report in a sealed envelope to the SC registry. Its term had ended on April 30 and was given extra time to question VHP International President, Praveen Togadia. The SIT probe was ordered by the apex court on April 27, 2009, based on a complaint by Zakia, wife of the Ehasan Jafri, who was killed in the Gulberg Society riots.
