Additional commissioner of police Praveen Sood, DCP (Traffic East) BA Muthanna, Fortis founder Dr Vivek Jawali and race director Hugh Jones unveiled the route at the Sree Kanteerava stadium on Tuesday for this year’s Sunfeast 10K .

The bulk of the route is the same as was used in 2008 and 2009, but it has undergone some fine-tuning to get past the major traffic congestion in the City on a Sunday.
Jones, also the race measurer for this year’s Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, was confident of providing the best possible course for the runners.

“Everything’s in place and we hope to execute this year’s event as well as we have planned it,” said Jones. “I’ve handled this race since its start and I know its limitations.
“There are various problems with conducting a race under such conditions but we have done it before and we can only improve with what we know.”

The number of participants set to take part in the IAAF ‘Gold Label’ is said to exceed twenty thousand but Jones ruled out the possibility of any ‘major’ problem in the selected course.
“ We will try to keep our disturbance to the minimum and make sure roads, apart from the ones selected, are not affected by us. All the planning is done, now it’s time to make it happen.” said Jones.
