Agricultural activities intensify in Kushalnagar

In some places, sowing has been undertaken in the last week of May.

Highest maize is grown in Kushalnagar hobli in the district. Sowing of maize has been completed in 452 hectare. It is grown in 1,850 hectare land. Ginger is grown in 386 hectare land. About 85 per cent of sowing of ginger has been completed.

The department has set the target to grow tobacco in 315 hectares. The tobacco plants have been planted in 192 hectare land.  Paddy will be grown in 1,850 hectare in Harangi reservoir limits and 442 hectare in Chikklihole reservoir limits. Pulses will be grown in 142 hectare land.

At the same time, the agriculture department is distributing paddy and maize seeds at concessional rate.
