There was a delay of about four months in publishing the results during the year 2008-09. The results should have been published within 45 days of the examination.

Inordinate delay

The academic timetable went haywire due to the inordinate delay. A five-member sub-committee was constituted under Syndicate member Umakant Niggudugi to look into the delay.

The sub-committee, in its interim report has recommended dismissal of Sayeeda as Dean also. It has also recommended to withhold the annual increment of Board of Education chairman Dr Babanna Hoovinabhavi and not to entrust him with any BEd examination work for three years. It has been pointed out by the sub-committee that Sayeeda and Dr Babanna failed furnish clarification on the delay even after repeated requests. The panel has termed the conduct as “negligence and authoritarian attitude”.

The sub-committee further has found that Sayeed Akthar has not been attending the Department regularly.

It has come to light that she has signed the attendance register despite going on tour for private purposes.

According to the documents available, she took part in a programme organised by National Council For Teacher Education not in official capacity, but claimed travelling allowance of Rs 18,000 from the organisers.
