The drainage construction work at the ward number 22 was taken up six months ago. However, the work is yet to be completed. The stagnant water in the half completed drainage has become the breeding ground for the mosquitoes. Residents also complain of the stink emanating from the stagnant water and are worried about the health problem resulting from this.

The residents have alleged that repeated requests to  officials concerned to take measures to complete the work and to clear water had fallen on the deaf ears.  A complaint has been registered with the Deputy Commissioner in this regard and the residents have threatened to stage a protest in front of the City Municipal Council if the officer fails to taken action to complete the work.
