Yashwant and Chandu had come from Belgaum CWC on a transfer. They were found near an abandoned stage at Saudatti in Belgaum district, were rescued by local police and produced before CWC, Belgaum. Yashwant kept saying about ‘Kote’ and ‘Kalidasa School’, Mysore but didn’t remember the name of any relatives. The CWC transferred the children to Mysore immediately. They were admitted to Government Home for Boys and were later transferred to Bapuji Children’s Home for better rehabilitation and treatment.

The CWC issued an order to trace the parents and with available clues, located Kalidasa school at Kuvempunagar and with the help of a school staff, Saraswathi’s house at Ramakrishnanagar. Saraswati and her parents appeared before CWC and claimed the children. The CWC decided to hand over the children after they identified their ‘doddamma’ and grand parents. However, they don’t have the whereabouts of the childrens’ mother, Bhagya. Their father Venkatesh, who hails from H D Kote abandoned his wife and children a year ago. Bhagya had then moved in to Saraswati’s house and stayed there for a few months, but left home in January 2010 without a clue, they said.
