Goods worth Rs 16 lakh seized, four held by Madikeri rural cops

The arrested are Sharief from Palemadu in Hoddur, Rasheed from Palibetta, Dore and Ramesh. Police have seized mobile phones, computer, Tavera and Astra car, Jeep and 25 bags of coffee. Their close aide Safa Shameer from Kerala is absconding.
It is said that the five together had robbed Rain bow mobile shop in Murnadu and stole 18 mobiles and Rs 22,500 cash. They robbed e-mahila mobile centre in Ammathi and stole a computer and mobile costing Rs 47,600. The same group stole 25 bags of coffee from Capt Subhash’s go down in Balamuri.
The police have seized a Tavera and an Astra cars used by the group in execution of robbery but the police suspect that these two cars too must have been stolen by them.
According to the police, the group used to gain entry into the houses of rich people on the pretext of giving electricity bill or selling electrical appliances and then rob the house.
The operation included Rural Circle Inspector R Sathish, PSI S Chikkanna, Shantharam and others.
