Cumulatively valued at Rs4,015 crore, the order for 12 units of 150 MW sets, is the largest captive power plant order placed by any industry in India, said a news release from the company. This is also the largest order won by BHEL in its industrial business segment.
The equipments for the project will be manufactured and supplied by BHEL’s manufacturing units at Trichy, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Bangalore and Ranipet. As a result of increased customer focus and renewed efforts for sustained presence in varied industrial segments, BHEL’s Industry Sector business segment recorded an all time high order inflow of Rs10,254 crore in 2008-09, up 30 per cent from the previous year.
