Marithibbegowda and Y N Narayanaswamy (both Ind) and others in the Council referred to the on going agitation by teachers in Bangalore. They have been demanding that the government must immediately regularise their services, which is pending from last five years.
When Social Welfare Minister D Sudhakar tried to convince the members by saying that they will be confirmed at the earliest, the members sought a time frame. JD (S) member Basavaraj Horatti wanted to know the reason for the delay. Home Minister V S Acharya, while admitting the delay, attributed technical reasons as the reason. But he said modalities are being worked to regular the services.
Dissatisfied with the reply, the members staged a dharna. Later Minister Sudhakar announced that the teachers will be confirmed.
