Speaking at ‘Chaitrada Chiguru’ programme organised for students poor in studies at the Cluster Resource Centre in Narasapura in the taluk recently, he said that students should study the lives of noble personalities and set goals for themselves. “Skills learnt during training should be imparted to fellow students and friends as well. Students should actively take part in extracurricular activities to evolve personality,” he suggested.

B V Ramakrishna Rao, an artiste from Bellur, who inaugurated the programme called upon students to evince interest in extracurricular activities.

Assistant Education Officer A Ramappa, who presided over the function said that students should grow as gigantic trees giving shelter and not as plants in the pots. They should make efforts to contribute for the uplift of the family, society and the nation.

While private organisations conduct summer camps for the upper classes of the society, Education Department has been conducting programmes like Chatirada Chiguru for the benefit of poor students, which in itself is a laudable effort, remarked cluster resource person K Srinivas.

As many as 25 students, who were selected for the camp presented cultural activities on the occasion.
