While the Germains’ boys edged out FAPS 3-2 to enter the final of the Centenary meet for Seniors, the latter put it across the former rather easily in the Fr Eric Vaz memorial event for Juniors; a 4-0 win giving them them a shot at the title.

In the Centenary tournament, it was FAPS who shot into lead when Prashanth found the target in the 23rd minute.

Germains wasted little time restoring parity as the scored the very next minute. Stung by the equaliser, FAPS made repeated forays into Germains’ half and once again took the lead, courtesy a 27-minute goal by Sriram.

Resuming on a 2-1 cushion, FAPS could not hang on to their lead for too long and Germains once again levelled the score in the 39th minute through Md Azhar. Joshua Paul finally broke the deadlock with his 48th-minute effort.

It was a walk in the park for FAPS in the junior section. Faraz Umar (20th) and Pranav Bhora (26th) provided 2-0 lead going into the breather and upon return, Nalin Koppikar (45th) and BC Ganapathy (55th) completed a handsome tally.
