Rohit Bal is grand finale designer for Men's fashion week

The exclusive men's event, to be held between August 27 and 29, will have 17 designers showing their menswear collections on the ramp. Besides his contemporary formal range that has been designed especially for the Grand Finale, Bal will also display his Spring-Summer 2011 line as part of the final show on August 29. He was the grand finale designer for mens week last year as well.

"I am thrilled to have been given the responsibility and the opportunity to showcase the best of my creativity in men's fashion today and manifest the reigning trends this season through my collection. Menswear has come a long way in our country and the fact that it is finally getting its due recognition with its own industry platform gives me tremendous pleasure," said Bal in a statement.

Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI, said, "Rohit's innate talent combined with his commitment to revive Indian textile is visible in his clothing line. A mens line to vouch for, I am sure his collection will allure the modern Indian man and exceed audience expectations."

The three-day extravaganza to be held in the capital will have designers from Delhi and Mumbai showing their menswear collections, including names like Narendra Kumar, Manoviraj Khosla and Wendell Rodricks.

Manish Malhotra was also supposed to show his collection but pulled out citing a busy schedule because of the upcoming film 'Rockstar'.
