A mother of two, who was shot at and critically wounded in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district is currently in hospital battling for her life, reports said. Sunita’s fault was that she had refused to obey her brother’s order to quit her job and stop going out of the house.

According to reports, Sunita, who was married about six years ago, had not been on good terms with her husband. As a result, she had left her in-laws house and had been living with her parents at Dadri in Ghaziabad, for the past couple of years.

As Sunita had two children, whom she wanted to give a good education, she had been looking for some job. About two months back, she had joined a local TV channel in Sahibabad.

Her elder brother Sunil, however, was against her doing a job and he had been exerting pressure on her to quit and stay at home.

Sunita, who was adamant on continuing, and had heated arguments with Sunil a few days ago following which the latter had threatened her with dire consequences.

On Sunday last, when Sunita was on her way to her office on a bike with her younger brother Anil, she was sprayed with bullets allegedly by Sunil and a friend. Sunita, who was hit on the head and stomach, fell on the road, while the assailants fled from the spot. A case had been registered and a hunt  launched to nab the culprits, police said.
